Saturday 18th April, Day 21

Saturday 18th April, Day 21

Temperature is -20°C with 30km/h wind, clear and sunny. We only walked 10.3 nautical miles today despite our best efforts. We were on the eastside of cape Kate Lady Franklin. We started at 8.40 and ended at 5.40. Today was horrible, horrible, horrible! It was exhausting work for little reward. We are pulling pulk sledges behind us and as you would walk up one obstacle and down on the other side, a new one would arise, and the pulks were hanging behind. We realized it would be impossible for us to reach checkpoint 2 by Sunday with that terrain. I was also worried because I couldn’t feel one of my feet, and for the last three days I hadn’t felt my foot at all.
