As we go into another game, undoubtedly a lot of you will be jaded over our results this season, and our ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, but it isn’t our performances that are necessarily bad (Wigan and a couple of others notwithstanding) it is the results, and as long as LFC keep putting in the performances that we have, eventually we should start getting the results we deserve…I hope!
This week, our opponents, Norwich, are comfortably mid table with little to play for except pride. A win for Norwich would mathematically guarantee the Canaries their Premier League survival this season, while the highest the Reds are likely finish this season is 7th, barring a major collapse by Chelsea. So Liverpool have little to play for in terms of league position, but yet again, players should be raring to perform well so they are included in the FA cup final team.
Last time the two teams met, we drew 1-1 in yet another one sided game where we had 29 shots on goal. (and a couple at the woodwork) Norwich continually change their system routine and tactics and keep their opponent guessing. That’s one reason why, as a newly promoted team, they have been doing well in the Premier League. Manager Paul Lambert is not afraid to experiment, but he doesn’t do it just for the sake of it.
And here is the greatest goal scored in a LFC Norwich game!
